Dr. Stephanie Gripne

 Advisory

You do not have to figure this out alone.

Dr. Steph works with select leaders, families, foundations, founders, companies, civic institutions, and community builders who are ready to think differently about money, meaning, and community.

This work is for people and institutions asking how to move capital with more clarity, courage, and purpose.

You may be building a capital strategy, planning a retreat, activating donors, launching a learning network, developing a community capital initiative, or trying to move from good intentions to real action.

Dr. Steph helps make the path clearer.

Advisory Work May Include

Advisory work is tailored to the person, institution, community, or initiative.

It may include:

Impact investing strategy
Donor and family education
Board and leadership conversations
Community capital strategy
Foundation and donor-advised fund activation
Thought partnership and coaching
Convening and retreat design
Place-based capital strategy
Venture studio strategy
Field-building and ecosystem development
Story, messaging, and thought leadership strategy

The work often begins with a question:

What are you trying to move — money, people, power, imagination, or a system?

Who This Is For

Advisory work may be a fit if you are:

A family asking how wealth can reflect your values
A foundation exploring mission-aligned capital
A donor wondering how your donor-advised fund can do more
A company or founder thinking about capital, ownership, and community
A civic leader trying to move resources toward local priorities
A community foundation building impact investing capacity
A board trying to understand what is possible
A regional ecosystem ready to activate capital
A leader carrying a big idea that needs structure, language, and next steps

You do not need to have the perfect structure before you begin.

You need a clearer path, the right questions, and a trusted thought partner.

How Dr. Steph Works

Dr. Steph’s advisory work combines strategy, education, systems thinking, and practical next steps.

She helps clients and partners:

Clarify what they are trying to accomplish
Understand the impact investing and community capital landscape
Translate complex financial ideas into plain language
Identify practical tools and pathways
Prepare boards, donors, families, or leadership teams for action
Design conversations, retreats, and learning experiences
Develop language, frameworks, and decision points
Move from inspiration to implementation

The goal is not to overwhelm people with jargon.

The goal is to help people see what is possible — and know what to do next.

A Different Kind of Advisor

Dr. Steph is not a traditional financial advisor.

She does not manage assets.
She does not sell financial products.
She does not begin with a portfolio.

She begins with people, place, purpose, and possibility.

Her work helps families, foundations, companies, civic leaders, and communities understand the choices in front of them — and the systems around them.

This includes the mechanics of capital, but also the human side of the work: trust, fear, power, grief, imagination, leadership, and courage.

Because changing how money moves is never only technical.

It is also relational.

Common Advisory Engagements

Thought Partnership & Coaching

Ongoing advisory and coaching for leaders building something new, navigating complexity, or trying to move from vision to action.

This may include idea development, messaging, strategy, field-building, writing, venture studio planning, capital activation, leadership support, and help clarifying the next right step.

Strategy Sessions

Focused conversations to help clarify a decision, opportunity, challenge, or next step.

Useful for families, founders, boards, donors, civic leaders, and institutions who need help making sense of the landscape.

Retreats and Convenings

Custom-designed conversations for families, boards, donors, leadership teams, foundations, civic groups, and regional ecosystems.

These engagements help people build shared language, understand what is possible, and move toward aligned action.

Community Capital Strategy

Support for communities, foundations, civic institutions, chambers, higher education institutions, and local leaders exploring how to move more capital into place-based priorities.

This may include donor activation, opportunity scans, capital pathways, learning cohorts, and ecosystem strategy.

Community Capital Venture Studio

Dr. Steph is formalizing a body of intellectual property through Tesseract IP, including more than a dozen brands, frameworks, tools, and concepts designed to move capital into communities.

The future Community Capital Venture Studio will help launch, test, and scale this portfolio into multiple entities, platforms, learning networks, advisory tools, media projects, and field-building programs.

A founding retreat is planned for Spring 2027, along with the recruitment of a board and advisory councils to help shape the next chapter.

Advisory work may include thought partnership around this emerging body of work, especially for people and institutions interested in community capital infrastructure, field-building, and systems change.

The Work Begins With a Conversation

You may not know exactly what you need yet.

That is okay.

You may be holding a question, a decision, a board conversation, a family meeting, a capital strategy, a community challenge, or a big idea that does not yet have a clear shape.

The first step is a conversation.

Together, we can clarify what you are trying to move, what is in your control, what tools may be available, and what the next right step could be.
